  • Hyperextension of the carpus, resulting from either acute trauma or repetitive chronic trauma
  • Ligamentous injuries.
  • Carpel joint luxation or subluxation.
  • Carpal fractures or dislocations where reduction and adequate joint stability cannot be achieved.
  • Shearing injuries to the medial or lateral collateral ligaments or carpal bones.
  • Severe carpal arthritis.
  • Radial paralysis where elbow can be extended
  • Distal humeral fractures
  • Distal tibial Fractures
  • Pantarsal and Intertarsal arthrodesis
